Gordon Stone - After Pine Island, Gordon played in Burlington new wave band The Decentz and the Afro-Fusion band Zzebra along with Jimmy Ryan. Gordon was a founding member of the bluegrass band Breakaway. More recently, Gordon has been leader of the Gordon Stone Band and has recorded four original banjo driven albums combining bluegrass, jazz, latin, and funk in tunes ranging from laid back grooves to high energy musical excursions. His playing can be heard on numerous CDs including two Phish releases and two Strangefolk releases. In 1999, Gordon composed and recorded an original soundtrack for the movie "Mud Season" shot in Vermont by the Los Angeles film company Hobnail Productions. This September he is touring with a side project, Al and the Transamericans, with Al and Vinny from jamband moe and Erik Glockler from Strangefolk, in support of their CD release Analog. In October, Gordon will tour with Mike Gordon, bassist with Phish, in support of the release of Mike's solo project Inside In. The new disc features Gordon's pedal steel playing on most of the tracks. Gordon is recognized nationally as an instrumentalist and composer.
