Artist Statement

The evocation of emotion, wonderment and enchantment are the inspiration of my visual art; not as an escape from reality, but as a window into unseen worlds and imagination.

I am drawn to subjects derived from nature, ancient myth, canonical literature, and metaphor. I am fascinated by the concept of time, and our potential evolution and consciousness of the fourth dimension. I work in two and three-dimensional mediums which include photography and mixed media- incorporating clays, acrylics, natural materials, fibers, paper and found objects. The human form is often my clay canvas. As a mother, I focus on the feminine traits of creation and protection, combining elements of the natural world to form what could be described as whimsical, anthropomorphic beings. I create with the intent of expressing that, in Life, everything is connected.
